Beauty and Purpose
We design and build with passion, creativity and intricate care
Alva is a Paul Gartside designed 30ft Gaff rigged cutter yacht, her lines inspired by the quay punts of Falmouth.
She is fast, seaworthy and immensely strong, with full headroom and accommodation for three adults and two children. Construction is larch on laminated pitch pine and steamed oak frames. Cedar decks, cabin-sides and capping rail in Iroko, Teak cockpit and trim, Pitch Pine interior and bronze and copper fastened throughout.
Please contact us if you would like to view her. We would love to build this design to your specifications.
Built by R.S. Burt for £80 in 1905 Curlew is perhaps the best known Falmouth Quay Punt surviving today. For 32 years Tim and Pauline Carr circumnavigated the World in this 28ft engineless boat, from the Arctic to the Antarctic peninsula, cruising and racing successfully in many places between.
It is with this great admiration and respect for her virtues that I took detailed offsets of her hull shape and recorded her lines.
I am keen to build a yacht or working boat to her lines and would welcome any enquiries regarding this idea.
